Green Building Concept

DUE TO HIGH DEMAND OF THEORY ON GREEN BUILDING WE ARE PROVIDING YOU THE MAIN - MAIN POINTS ON GREEN BUILDING AS PER OUR KNOWLEDGE:

Q.1.   What is Green Building ?

Ans.   The Buildings are Buildings which are environment friendly as well as using low resources - either natural or man-made resources.  Green Buildings can manage resources in such a manner - so that they may be recycled or cut the cost dynamically. In other words we can say "Green Buildings are Echo Friendly Buildings". Green Buildings are Environment Friendly and able to maintain Sustainable Development or renewable energy and alternative or parallel sources of energy.

Q.2.   Whay Green Buildings are important in modern era ?

Ans.   Today we are suffering from water resources, energy resources as well as pollution is a big concern in modern era. Green Buildings are “Echo Friendly”, Environment Friendly, use low or less resources and have some devices and small size water/air pollution plants as compare to traditional buildings. Green Buildings are also economic as the construction cost can be cut by using some new methods like – “Fly Ash Bricks” & waste material to maintain positive quality of temperature inside the buildings i.e. cool in summers and warm in winters.

Q.3    Components and Devices Used in Green Building ?

Ans.   The Green Building is divided into 2 major parts – Civil Part & Machinery Part.

CIVIL PART- In Short: Construction Material such as Fly Ash, waste mixture of recycled Plastic mixed with Charcoal, Cement and Fly Ash, to construct outer walls, Road, and water tank etc. there are lot and lot of other eco-friendly waste material which can be used in building construction to reduce cost.

In Civil Part there are lot of other components like horticulture, aquaculture, agriculture, fruiticulture, floraculture, arboriculture, aquaponics, landscaping, terrace garden, hanging gardens of oxygen rich plants etc.

Good FAR: you need to maintain good quality of Floor Area Ration (or Green Area Ratio) i.e. the ratio between “Green Area” vs. “Buildup Area”. In other words we need to maintain large amount of green area (Oxygen) to improve health of end-users in the green building.

MACHINERY PART – or Non-Civil Part: Machinery part is the electronic or mechanical devices or electromechanical devices used in the building in such a manner so that they can save electricity / water / and other natural or man made resources. Below are only few examples (only 5% I think):

1.     Energy Saving Devices: such as Solar Panels, Hybrid Solar Energy, Pizo-electricity (the electricity produced by footfall), Wind Energy, Biogas or Biofuel Energy.
2.     Energy Efficient Devices: Sunlight Detectors – so that the lights of the building may shut-off automatically after sunrise. Using LDR and Light Sensors with Relay and PLC or Micro-controllers etc.
3.     Fiber Optics Lights: use of Fiber Optic system to illuminate lights inside the building / rooms / stores / offices etc. (for detail you can type “fibre optic lights in building” on google).
4.     Double Layer Glass in Windows: we can use double or triple layer thick glass in windows and skylights or gazebos.
5.     Digital Waste Management System: i.e. we can use sensor equipped dustbins along with - Multicolor Dustbins: with sensors so that we may know when to call sanitation staff to collect these bins:
a.      Green Dustbin: for bio-degradable waste such as waste fruits, vegetable parts, flowers, cotton, blood, urine, stools, wooden junk, dead animals and biological waste.
b.     Blue Dustbin: for non bio-degradable waste such as plastic, iron, glass etc.
c.      Red Dustbins: for non-recyclable things, like soft plastic, plastic wrap, plastic bags, nappies, broken glassware, thin plastic trays.
d.     Yellow Dustbins: for recyclable materials such as newspapers, magazines, envelops, papers, egg cartons, juice or milk cartoons etc.
There are lot of more colors available in waste management system, you can search internet for more details.
6.     Rain Water Harvesting: a good quality Green Building should have a rain water harvesting system (RWH), so that we can best maintain and use underground water resource whenever we need it.
7.     Under Road Water Harvesting: we need to make under or below road – rain water harvesting systems so that we can use this water in gardening and cleaning purpose.
8.     Sewate Water Treatment and Water Harvesting: a good quality green building should have a mini “Sewage Water Treatment Plant” inside the building and also we can use this recycled water toward underground water harvesting tank or we can also connect the output of drain (of cleaned water by plant) to rain water harvesting pipe so that we can maintain sufficient level for underground water for boring.

9.     Pollution Safety Measures: such as waste water treatment plant, polluted air treatment plant, use of industrial oxygen concentrators in highly polluted cities only.
